Divine intervention is what has allowed this book to be compiled. As it was God that has directed me
in every step of this books production. There are many books available about the wild horse that range from where to find
them to books that are filled with lots of photos of these beautiful animals on the range. I wanted to create and bring to
our readers a book that shares this magnificent animal and their amazing adopters. Currently as of press time there have been
approximately 207,000 wild horses and burros adopted since this program began. Within the pages of this book you will find
only a handful of those adopters that are going to open their hearts and share with you their stories and photos of their
adopted horses.
I wanted to also share with readers that the wild horse is not just a horse that you adopt and keep as a lawn ornament
but it is a wild horse that you adopt and can have many years of a close nit friendship and bonding experience which is a
unique characteristic trait of a feral horse.
One of the reasons that I believe that these horse’s make such great trained animals is due to the fact that they
have a herd bonding instinct which develops from their birth and interaction with the band. This is not something that is
"learned" by simply taking domestic horses and turning them loose on HMAs. It takes many generations to develop this
instinct.
With the proper training and care your wild horse will become the most trustworthy equine companion that you will ever
have the opportunity to own. They can compete in many events and are just as successful as the domestic horse in competitions
like, endurance trail, dressage, driving, western pleasure, english pleasure, cutting, team penning, reining, roping, barrels,
poles and many other equine events.
You will find these horses listed by state and then alphabetized within this book. You will also find a reference section
that lists the offices throughout the United States that will help you decide who to contact for more information about adopting
your very own wild horse. There is also an adoption application that you can fill out and send in. Also in this reference
section you will find a map that will allow you to look up the different ranges that these horses have been captured from.
As Congress has stated, the wild horse has been declared to be "living symbols of the historic and
pioneer spirit of the West." The wild horse will enrich you life and your soul and offer you a life time of friendship.
By purchasing this book you will be helping to preserve the wild horse in their natural environment. By adopting you can prevent
the slaughter of over populated wild horses and provide good long-term care for the animals which the Senate, Congress
and the President signed a bill that contained text hidden within it which will allow older unadoptable/unusable horses
to be sent to Mexico for slaughter. This bill is calling for over 10,000 deaths which will knock the population of an animal
that has roamed our country for over 15,000 years to an endangered level.
Revision:
The bill of sale for the new sales program states that individuals or groups that purchase the animals must provide humane
careand not knowingly sell or transfer ownership of the older animals to anyperson or organization with the intention to resell,
trade, or give away the animals for processing into commercial products.
The Burns Admendment:
Senator Burns admendment places a requirement on the Bureau of Land Management that they shall and continue to sell horses
without limitations until all excess animals are exposed of. We are their only hope for survival in their natural environment
and for those that need to be culled it is wonderful people like yourself and the other adopters in the book that are providing
excellent permanent homes for these horses. Only you can make a difference!

in captivity. With your purchase and your help we can support and save, The American Wild Horse**
